Parts Illustrator

  • Compile parts drawings and associated parts indexes to combineand/or design parts pages for publication into a parts book utilizing Excel, Adobe, and 3D Solidworks CAD system software.
  • Assist Parts Book team in completing parts books and/or parts drawings for TICO Pro-Spotters and service related issues.
  • With assistance from Lead Parts Illustrator, insure key quality expectations are satisfied including customer satisfaction, continuous improvement, timely execution, accuracy, and efficiency.
  • Position directly affects aftermarket part sales through the development of accurate and detailed parts book information.
  • Follows established departmental policies, procedures, continuous quality improvement objectives, and all safety regulations.
  • Other duties as assigned by Management.
  • This position has no supervisory responsibilities assigned.

    EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Two-year certificate or degree in computer aided drafting/designrelated field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Previous experience in technical 3D illustrating and/or computer graphics, familiarity with engineering documentation and broad product knowledge.
  • Mechanical and/or automotive design experience a plus.
  • Background in manufacturing a plus.
  • Capable of fluently speaking, reading, and writing the English language.
  • Good interpersonal and external communications skills requiredto work with other employees, management, customers, and vendors.
  • Applicant should have the capability to diagnose the source of a problem quickly with good reasoning ability. Capable ofapplying common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Strong problem-solving skills are required, as well as the ability to use a diagnostic approach to trouble-shoot and deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Ability to be exact or accurate in completion of work is required.
  • Mathematics are frequently required to perform calculations using basic arithmetic. Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and multiply and divide with 10s and 100s. Ability to perform these computations using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals using units of currency (USD), standard and metric measurements.
  • Advanced computer skills and Internet experience a must;Excel, Word, Outlook, and CAD Software.
  • Working knowledge of 3D Solidworks or similar CAD system software experience is required.
  • Current/valid drivers license.
  • Willing to work overtime occasionally, as needed to meet deadlines. Willing to cooperate in departmental workloadchanges. Willing to attend continuing education courses as required.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee, on occasion, be exposed to outside weather conditions. Employee may experience eye and muscle strain, backaches, headaches, and repetitive motion injuries from using computers on a daily basis. The noise level is the work environment is usually quiet; however, employee may be required to verify parts within a manufacturing environment that can often be noisy.     The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
