1. Installs repairs or modifies domestic and sanitary plumbing / steam-fitting, piping, and associated equipment through the use of the work order system. Follows priority assigned by supervisor.
2. Maintains and repairs fixtures, pipes, equipment, and machinery that use water, air, gas, steam, steam condensate, etc.
3. Tests, checks, repairs, installs, rebuilds, lubricates, cleans such things as fire protection, sprinkler lines, valves, fixtures, faucets, washing machines, air compressors, valves, dryers, piping, boilers, etc.
4. Uses a variety of hand and other tools including power drain cleaners, electrical drills, saws, soldering iron, pipe threading machines, etc.
5. Assists in special and routine inspections of facilities; recognizes equipment malfunction and identifies source of problem or refers to supervisor and carries out approved repairs as above.
6. Maintains working knowledge of applicable codes and regulations relating to assignments and calls any deviation to attention of supervisor.
7. Plans installations by studying blueprints and work sketches to determine the kind and size of pipe, fittings, etc. that are required.
8. Lays out, fabricates, assembles, installs, and repairs all plumbing and piping systems, utilizing a variety of piping types, cast iron, plastic, copper, brass, black iron, stainless steel, glass, etc.
9. Recommends material according to job specification.
10. Repairs to and installation of equipment used in the operation of steam, drainage, controls, and HVAC system.
11. Will perform necessary scheduled maintenance as per the Scheduled Maintenance program.
12. Does necessary troubleshooting, testing, and checks for proper operation of plumbing systems.
1. Ability to read, comprehends, and transmit complicated and detailed instructions in order to plan and perform job duties. This is normally acquired through completion of a high school education.
2. A comprehensive understanding of plumbing systems, codes and equipment and its operation. This is normally acquired through courses in physics, chemistry, electricity, math, and specialized courses in Plumbing. Must have completed four (4) year apprenticeship program in the plumbing trade; normally acquired in ten (10) years Plumbing experience.
3. Must have analytical abilities sufficient to diagnose and correct complex operating problems. Repair same and schedule and plan the work of others.
4. Current certification / licenses to work on Plumbing systems per local, state, and federal regulations.
/Good physical condition and ability to operate departmental equipment. A demonstrated skill in Plumbing operation, maintenance, repair, and basic understanding of other trades acquired through similar on-the-job training./
/Sits; stands; bends; kneels; climb stairs, ladders, and equipment; has good sense of balance and is able to work on heights. Some lifting of medium and/or heavy equipment and tools./
/Some exposure to extreme degrees of heat, noise, dust and dirt, areas requiring infection control. Ability to meet deadlines and make sound decisions sometimes under stress. Work whatever hours are necessary to maintain facility in a safe manner including weekends and nights./
/Administrative, department heads, and supervisory staff, employees, customers, representatives of architects, contractors, vendors, etc. Interpersonal skills necessary to deal effectively and courteously with the above contacts./

Job Summary
Summary: Assists with the day-to-day upkeep, maintenance and smooth operation of the building and campus. Repairs, maintains and assists in the installation of vending machines and equipment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Provides quality customer service by providing one-on-one attention to detail.
Cleans and polishes furniture and fixtures.
Performs minor repairs to doors, fixtures and furniture.
Records information from meters and gauges at specified intervals to verify operating conditions.
Makes adjustments and minor repairs to heating, cooling, ventilating, plumbing and electrical systems.
Regularly replaces HVAC air filters.
Monitors building security and safety by performing such tasks as locking doors after operating hours and checking electrical appliance use to ensure that hazards are not created.
Moves heavy furniture, equipment and supplies either manually or by using hand trucks.
Mows and trims lawns and shrubbery, using mowers and hand and power trimmers; clears debris.
Notifies managers about the need for major repairs or additions to building operating systems.
Removes snow from sidewalks, driveways and parking areas.
Sets up, arranges and removes decorations, tables, chairs, ladders and scaffolding to prepare facilities for events.
Ad-hoc cleaning of building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing or vacuuming; gathers and empties trash; services, cleans and supplies restrooms.
Drives vehicles required to perform work.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Valid Non-CDL Class C driver's license may be required.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
